• 事故はいつでも起こり得る。 ［可能性］「～はあり得る」

  An accident can [could] happen at any time.
• その噂は本当なのだろうか。 ［強い疑い］「～はあり得るだろうか」

  Can [Could] the rumor be true? 疑問文で強い疑いを表す。couldのほうが確度は低い。
• その噂が本当であるはずがない。 ［強い否定的な推量］「～のはずがない」

  The rumor can't [couldn't] be true. must（～に違いない）の反対の意味で、強い打ち消しの推量を表す。→ The rumor must not be true.
• (あなたは)入ってはいけない。 ［不許可・禁止］「〜してはいけない」

  You may not come in.
• (あなたは)朝食を食べてはいけません。 4種類の言い換えがあるよ！覚えてるかな？

  She should [ought to] be in the park. mustやwillよりも確信度は低い。
• あなたは宿題をしないといけない。 ［命令・忠告］

  You had better [have to] do your homework. had betterは群動詞なのに注意！

  You ought not to be here. notの位置に要注意！
