• 星の王子さまはとても小さな惑星に一人で住んでいた。

  The Little Prince lived alone on a very small planet.

• 彼は宇宙についてもっと知りたかったので、他の惑星へ旅に出た。

  He wanted to know more about space, so he went on a trip to other planets.

• １つ目の星にはビジネスマンが住んでいた。

  On the first planet lived a businessman.

• 彼は足し算をしていた。

  He was adding numbers.

• 彼はとても忙しかったので、星の王子さまに気づかなかった。

  He was so busy that he did not notice the Little Prince.

• 「３+５は８になる。１２+４で１６。合計で１００万になる。」

  "Three plus five makes eight. Twelve plus four makes sixteen. In total, that makes one million."

• 「１００万の何ですか」と星の王子さまが尋ねた。

  "One million what?" asked the Little Prince.

• 「星さ、」とそのビジネスマンが言った。

  "Stars," said the businessman.

• 「見ろ！あそこにある星々は全て私のものだ！」

  "Look! Those stars over there are all mine."

• 「こんなにたくさんの星をどうするんですか？」

  "What do you do with so many stars?"

• ビジネスマンが言った。

  The businessman said.

• 「何も。裕福でいたいから、単純に所有してるだけさ。」

  "Nothing. I simply own them because I want to be rich."

• 「なぜ裕福でいたいのですか」と星の王子さまが尋ねた。

  "Why do you want to be rich?" asked the Little Prince.

• 「だから、誰かが発見してくれたら、もっと星を買うことができる。」

  "So I can buy more stars if somebody discovers the."

• 「そしてもっと多くの星をどうするんですか？」

  "And what will you do with more stars?"

• 「数えては、もう一度数えるんだ。」

  "I'll count them and then count them again."

• 「それで終わりですか？」

  "Is that all?"

• 「それで十分だ！」

  "That's enough!"
